Another Run

Hey everyone So I havent been playin much in the last 6 months until this last july. I deposited 50 on pokerstars and had a pretty good run up to about 19K until yesterday when everything fell apart and I dropped just over 13K in a single day. My bankroll is now at 5.5K and I really need to run it back up due to wanting to travel over christmas. I was playing nothing but 2/4 and really ran way under ev in some big long heads up matches. I am going to try to shortstack everything from 1/2 to 5/10 plo and see how it goes. I hate when people shortstack cause I always buyin for max but it seems that some of the regs on pokerstars do it and make a profit. So i guess I am gonna take up the bitch role and see if i can make some money from it. MY name on pokerstars is P. Brauhaus if you want to watch. Wish me luck , I need it.

Progress Report

Hey guys,
Sorry I haven't posted in about a week been really busy with playing and school. So anyway I have been doing well from where I started until last night. Last night I got killed and was playing like a loose idiot. I should have quit but kept telling myself that I would get it back which as you know only makes you lose more. My Bankroll is currently at $3100. Before last night I had it at $4500 but the I sat at a 5/10 plo table and lost. I am so mad at myself for doing this. As my results show playing .5/1 plo and 1/2 plo has worked well for me so it is so stupid I played up. I also withdrew $800 a few days ago so as of now in total I am up to $3900 from the $21 won in the loyalty tournament. I am going to keep playing try to make up what I lost last night by actually playing smart instead of like a huge fish at limits I cannot afford. Until I get to $5000 I will play nothing but .25/.50 and .5/1. I feel this in no way risks my bankroll as I have 30 full buyins at .5/1.

Bit of a Heater

Hey guys,
This past weekend was a really good one for me. I played alot and am happy to say never put my bankroll at risk. I pretty much played .25/.50 plo except for a few minimum buyins at .50/1 plo and 1/2 plo. I wanted to share a few hands with you. One losing and one winning. I will start off with the losing hand. I was sitting at 1/2 plo with 120 in front of me. I raised to 7 preflop and another person came over top and reraised to 22. I was holding As,Kh,Qs,10c. I called and saw flop along with one other person. So three people in pot. Flop comes A,8,2 rainbow. The guy who reraised shoves his last 86 into pot. The other player folds and I snap call. In my mind I know he doesn't have A'A because there is very little chance he shoves in with A,8,2 rainbow board because there is no threat for someone to really outdraw him. He turns over Kd,Jh,10d,9h. I love this and have him completely crushed. Of course he goes runner runner diamonds to beat me with flush and take down a $270 pot. I about broke my computer after that. So anyway that sucked but now I will tell you about the better hand. Let me just say before that the flop of this hand is the best flop I have ever had playing online poker. I started the hand with $100.50. This was at a 9 seat 1/2 plo table. I get delt AsJcJd4s. It gets raised to $16 preflop. 3 people call including myself, so 4 people go to flop. Flop comes Js7s2s. BOOM! I have nut flush and top set. I am in early position so I check because I am not worried about losing just hoping I can double up. Everyone checks and we go to turn. Turn is 8d. The original raiser, in first position, bets $35 I call and the other two players fold. River is a blank 4c and original raised fires $70 to put me all in with my $55 left. He turned over K high flush and I turn over A high to take down $236 pot. Anyway thats all for now. Have a good one.

Gold Card Tourney

So as everyone who read my last post knows I played with the $150 real quick and lost. I said I was going to try to play some loyalty tourneys and freerolls to try to build a bit. I won $21 in a gold card (loyalty) tourney. I was happy about that and was hopin I could turn it into a little something. I have turned the $21 into about $150 after 36 hours (about 8 hours of play) so I am happy about that. I stayed mostly within limits other than risking about $35 at .5/1 when I got up to about $80 and made a good little run there. I have another $3000 guarenteed loyalty tournament tommorrow that should have about 100 or so entrants so I'd love to get a good cash there.

1st Session

I decided to sit and play some. I played some .02/.04 and .05/.10. I started off badly lost a buyin at .02/.04 quickly. Then my old habits got the best of my and I sat at 2 .5/1 tables with $75 each and lost. Back to BROKE! I am so mad. I am going to keep writing and playing freerolls and gold chip tourneys and hopefully grind something out.

Starting Philly2230's poker journey

Hello all,
I hope some of your will find my blog helpful and enjoy my posts. I am going to deposit $150 on the cake network and see how it goes. I am 19 and have been playing online for a few years. My main problem has been bankroll management. I have had some pretty sizeable swings but end with the same end result. I will win a few thousand and keep risking it at higher limits and eventually go broke. I am going to try to blog a little everyday to keep me in line.
